CULAD (Culver City Arts District) Business Districts Culver City Arts District To kick off the newly organized Culver City Arts District, Economic Development Division staff worked with local businesses. Washington Boulevard will be illuminated by 32 double-hung light banners. between Helms and Fairfax Avenues. In collaboration with the Arts District's members, the Economic Development team developed a marketing and promotion project that marketed the artisanal restaurants, specialty shops, and art galleries in the neighborhood. Arts District members designed banners that feature the words dine, shop, and experience. Among the eleven Culver City art galleries along Washington Blvd., four are represented in the banner images. It represents a $9000 investment in the Arts District financed entirely by members. A comprehensive website and map are in development, highlighting member businesses such as art galleries, specialty retailers and restaurants, as well as schools and offices that support creativity. The Museum of Jurassic Technology in Culver City, California is a museum spotlight Museum spotlight: The Museum of Jurassic Technology in Culver City, CA Venice Boulevard stretches roughly two miles between Culver City and The Palms in greater Los Angeles. Located on the corner of Bagley Avenue and Venice Avenue, the Culver City Museum of Jurassic Technology (MJT) has an odd, inconspicuous entrance at the approximate median point of the Boulevards. A marble garden wall-fountain accents its olive-green stucco facade, which stands out among the other businesses in the area. In between three sets of windowpanes, the stucco is peeling off the top of the building. In addition to the door being caged in teal-green, it will only open when visitors enter. In this small park, fitness enthusiasts sweat and run up the incline multiple times, while shutterbugs set up shop on the overlook on clear days. You can use it as a training facility for larger hikes, or just to exercise if you live nearby. While Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook may not be considered much of a hike, it is a beautiful pocket of green space that can be reached by car, bike, or Expo Line. On Jefferson Blvd, this park is easy to miss. As you drive by, you can't miss the park entrance because the park is only a few years old.
